The Gregg Museum of Art & Design is located at 1903 Hillsborough St. Raleigh, NC 27607. The goal of the Gregg Museum of Art & Design is to spark creativity and encourage visitors to explore and learn.

 

Exhibitions

 

The Gregg Museum of Art & Design welcomes six new exhibitions each year, providing something new for visitors to see each time they step in the door. These engaging shows are designed to present diverse artists, media, techniques, and a variety of cultures to the visitor in new and innovative ways they may never have considered.

May of the current exhibitions originated at the Gregg, while some of the traveling exhibitions will be brought in from other institutions to help broaden the range of offerings to guests. Each exhibition will include related programming and thought-provoking publications. Guests can choose to pursue the additional information, or they can just enjoy artwork as it is.

 

The Library

 

The Gregg Museum also includes its own non-lending library. This library includes more than 3,000 books that relate to the holdings kept within the museum. Visitors are welcome to come and look through the library to learn more about art and other artifacts kept at the museum, but all books must remain in the library.

 

Available Programs

 

Visitors will be able to look into a variety of programs that are hosted by the Gregg. These programs are designed to help enhance some of the current exhibitions, giving guests a deeper appreciation for the design and art they see. The Gregg will host many different programs including:

 

  • Artist residencies
  • Lectures
  • Tours
  • Immersive art
  • Film screenings

 

These are available throughout the year and are open to NC State students and general public audiences alike. Anyone who is interested in learning more about the exhibitions provided at the museum will be able to participate.

 

Hours

 

The Gregg is open from 10 AM to 5 PM on Tuesday through Saturday for all visitors. Limited free parking is available near the building for visitors. If parking elsewhere on the campus, you will need to make a payment before leaving your vehicle there.

 

Virtual Tours

 

Visitors who are not able to make it to the Gregg Museum of Art & Design in person can choose to participate in one of the virtual tours. These are available at any time from the Gregg website. Visitors can click on each exhibitions’ landing page to find a highlight reel and controls that will lead them through each part. Descriptions of each exhibit can be found by clicking on the available round bubbles that show up inside each image.

Depending on the exhibit, visitors may be able to find printable PDF files and online photo galleries that will help them learn even more about the artwork within the Gregg.
