Title: Have you lost data yet?

This is an ominous question and a subject many people tend to avoid. The hard truth is that data stored on just about any media is subject to loss. That loss could result from a variety of sources including but not limited to viruses, fire, human error or just aging equipment. Hard drives in particular are mechanical devices and will eventually fail. It is only a matter of when so you might as well be prepared for the inevitable. For home users, backup may just be a matter of using flash drives or external hard drives to store copies of valuable data. For businesses this can be another matter altogether. Businesses typically will lose money if their data is not accessible since employees cannot do their jobs. Simply backing up that data nightly isn’t always sufficient for them. Having a standby or redundant method of operation becomes crucial if they want to stay operational even in an emergency or disaster situation. There are well tested and very affordable solutions for both home and business backup needs. Whatever solution you choose – be sure it includes multiple copies of your data since even backup copies can fail. Having only one parachute when you skydive isn’t smart. A second emergency chute might just be needed at some point. Please contact ComTech to find out more about the solutions available.
